Ouch!
on: March 27, 2011, 12:37:12 AM
I was loading some pallets into the back of a mate's car earlier, and felt one of those "little" muscles in my back go pop. You know those little fellers that sit there not doing much until you do something silly, then they bite you. What do they actually do? Are they there like a fuse in an electrical system - you bugger those up instead of something major?

Anyhow, I now look like I'm doing the dance to YMCA every few minutes to stop the little sod cramping up. Not so much pain, but a bit like the :ahhh feeling when you bang your funny bone! Oh well, another 3 days of walking like I've got a ferret down my trousers I suppose.

Heat and ice alternately, anti-inflammatories, stretch only to your comfort limit and then rest.... I know this game very well!

Get better :)

Fortunately with my knee and ankle problems I haven't ever found myself in a position to hurt my back.  Long before my back gets strained my knee will pop out of joint or something, but I really don't recommend that as a viable solution!

Fell better soon buddy!

The problem is, now you've done some damage take care once your back to normal. It's soooooo easy to forget a while later and do the same again.

That's what I kept doing with my knee, it took far to long to heal because I kept straining it over and over in the following months.

Take care, hope it goes away soon.

Back problems are the absolute worst. :( Standing, sitting, or laying down, there is just no escaping from the pain sometimes. :( It all stems from a horrible design issue really. :P

Hopefully the new improved 2.0 Back models will sort all that though :D

Cheers guys.

I've been surprisingly mobile and comfortable today apart from a couple of nasty moments when it cramped up - but laying flat with a squash ball pressing in the cramped area seemed to do the job  :tu:

Just got to avoid doing anything silly at work this week. Unfortunately that's like asking Brian Blessed to stop shouting :D

I have a bad shoulder to toss in the mix, as well as two fairly weak ankles from years of astroturf during Highschool football.

Eesh, not fun. I pulled my back muscle during late ski season about a month ago, had to sit home instead of go playing and still haven't completely recovered even now.

Ooh, I can make a correlation:  a Castanza wallet, which displaces your hips, offsets your spine, and causes back pain.  :D
