Victorinox special mechanic

I have found my perfect sak. It's the best tools in the smallest package since the invention of the socket set. I even love the logo being on the back, does anyone know if these scales are available anywhere?

I'll keep trying to search for one but I doubt that will come to fruition, so it looks like I shall have to mod one. What's the smallest amount of saks i'll have to dissect to create this? An apprentice and a deluxe tinker?

Scales with the shield on the reverse normally have advertising on the front.  To make your own I think the easiest route will be to pull apart a DofE or a Compact and a Mechanic.

If you have said knives kicking around or can get cheap second hand that's good.  Otherwise its about as cheap to just buy that one from Tim and save the hassle :)
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I've already tried Tim, he doesn't have any available. how difficult would it be to move the sheild to the back? just a case of drilling a few holes or slightly more complex?

Not really doable.  I can probably find you a reverse shield scale from my bits box if you want one.  Yo may need to get the brasso on it though :)

If you email them, will they let you purchase online? we really need a group buy on these.

It sound like it would be a fair bit of work trying to get them to part with them, is money not enough for people these days  :ahhh

I purchased off them a 2-3 months ago.
Although they say you need to be a company, when I emailed them asking if they could just sell me a knife or two they were more than happy to do so (never hurts to ask).
Cant recall the price or postage cost now, but yeah, you can order and buy off them!

I'd be in for one. I tried to contact them about getting a dozen or so through my company and never heard back from them. Maybe you'll have better luck than I.

It appears you can checkout online.  What payments do they offer?  I can only imagine shipping being high to send it across the Atlantic.

They sent me an invoice quote and accepted visa payment for me. Shipping to NZ was about standard to what it costs me to purchase from ebay US sellers I think.
