It's a double effect camping at high altitude here in Colorado.  Something about Boyle's law and gas expanding with the reduced air pressure at high altitude.  Unzipping your sleeping bag in the morning while camping in the mountains is always a suprise.

One thing I've noticed eating MRE's and I think they use sulpher or something as a preservative.  They tend to give you a lot of gas or me anyway. 

They have the same affect on me.

Tell me about it.  The freeze dried stuff is generally more apetizing in the long run but I have eaten MRE's on occasion.  You can get interesting results from the powder in those MRE heaters but putting it in a 2 liter plastic soda bottle with some water and putting the lid on tight but I am just saying that for informational purposes.

I forgot to buy a heater, so I microwaved the main dish for a few seconds. Worked like a charm.
