Wenger 4-Layer Ranger Everest
on: April 22, 2011, 04:42:04 PM
Is this a discontinued tool?  I can't find it on Wenger's site.  Any opinions on it?

Thanks!

Of the old Ranger line, was the Everest the fattest one? With the most tools? :)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

If you have an Everest, religate it to a collectable and replace it with an Alinghi or a Mike Horn. :tu:

I know, this thread is old....

But when Googling information on one of my aquisitions, the only valuable links led here and to SakWiki.

For some time i have been eying a swiss big folder with many tools. (Read: Vic 111 or Wenger 120/130).
Coincidentally i stumbled upon a Wenger Everest in a nicely fitting Nylon sheath and with a small Faux Mag Solitaire.

I was planning to test this knife for recreational EDC, replacing the torch either with an LED upgraded Solitaire or a Thrunite and have a go.

But it seems as it is a bit of a collectors item, especially given the last development of Wengers future.

Can anybody tell me if there was a Set offered from Wenger including the torch and sheath? It is a Wenger branded sheath in grey Nylon and with the blue W printed on.

I know, you´ll want and need pics for further expertise, but for now my sparse description will have to do...

Condition: The Sheath misses thw Wenger Logo, one scale misses a small piece at one corner (2-3 mm), the blade needs a good resharpening and the tip is slightly bent.

Does this rule it out as acollectors item and i can just abuse it or would you rather keep it as is or look out for good scales?

I´m not looking to make a profit here, just looking for feedback. In fact, I´d just trade it in for a 111 Vic with a metal file or similar tools than the everest anytime.
