what is the Tap?

A tap is for cutting (or recutting) the threads in a drilled hole.  Typically all tap sizes (for example, M6, M8, M10) will all have the same size square end that a universal tap handle will fit.

thanks

but it is not too specific tool to put on a prybar?

Ok...

After numerous failed attempts at free hand drawing, I submit this lame MS Paint drawing.  :-\

a general question, the   thickness remains in the metric wrench is too thin? can break?

do you think is more useful  a bottle opener or a guthook?

The drawing isn't to scale.  I'm thinking if the tool is 30 mm in width, the alligator wrench at 13mm still leaves 9 mm on the "straight side" and 8 mm on the "toothed side".

I prefer a guthook.  Every tool seems to have a bottle opener (and there's always a ledge around that will work  ;))

Overall tool size would be 30 mm by something like 80-90 mm long.
Ideally, the tap hole (a square hole) would be dead center. the 1/4 bit driver hexagonal hole would be between the tap hole and alligator wrench somewhere.

Not for me.  I use a tap regularly on the farm.  Anytime an old bolt is removed, chasing the threads with a tap helps prevent damage to the threads when a bolt is replaced and helps prevent stripping out the hole.  Also, oddly enough, our horses have shoes with tapped holes for interchangeable studs.

Here's a crappy drawing that's closer to actual scale of the tool.

(BTW, anyone who wants to chime in on this design, feel free )

Looking at that picture, I think it may be better to have the 1/4 bit driver hole on the other side of the tap hole.

The design has ....

ugliness issues.  There I've said it. :-[

I have to think about it more.  It just doesn't have the right esthetic yet.

That makes sense to me!

Does the wrench end need to be open?  Just curious.   ;)

No. If I was still a tool and die maker i would have, but no access to equipment.   Go to the web site @ the beginning of this thread(which is in Italian) and email him and see if he still makes them. They are not on his available tools page. Ran me about $60 with shipping from Italy.
