Since I joined up a whole week ago I've been exposed to a whole forum's worth of tool lust, and when I was out tonight I just couldn't help myself; I picked up a Fuse to add to the collection.  :angel:

Since this is my first tool from the Kick/Fuse/Blast line, is there anything different I should know about its care and feeding? This tool does seem in many ways to be the spiritual successor to my PST and Pulse.

I have the kick, fuse, and blast and they are all great tools. The only real difference is the plastic grips along side the handles.

The big difference is that the Kick don't have locking blades,and has the capability to put a clip on it,and the Blast has a lot more tools,I modified my Fuse by filing down the med flat screwdriver into an awl.

Yes, of the three, Kick is the smallest, Fuse is in the middle and the Blast is the biggest.  The Kick doesn't have locking components and for the Fuse, a knifeless version is also available (a file replaces the blade).

Some folks have more issues with surface rust spots on the Kick/Fuse and Blast when compared to older LM products, most likely caused by the bead blasted finish.  Not a problem I've had myself TBH and easily dealt with if it does happen.

While the Zytel inserts greatly improved the comfort it can be made to be even better.  The inner edge (i.e. the edge beside the tools) tends to still be quite sharp, a very light rub with some abrasive paper makes quite a difference IMO.

I've had all three from this range and the only one I didn't get on so well with was the Blast, just to much of a fat lump in my hand when using the pliers, that's a personal issue though and many others are perfectly happy with it.  Kick and Fuse are much more comfortable IMO and it's a real shame to see them go.  As it happens I was carrying my Fuse today as well. :)

Yep, the Fuse is a good compromise with the locking blades of the Blast and the slim profile of the Kick. :salute: How are you getting along with yours so far airballrad? :)

I'm liking it! It is quite sturdy, and I like the tool loadout.
After EDC'ing it for a few days I've gone back to my Wave. This will live in the car, and the Core moves to the pickup.  8)
