I was hoping it did't have the saw.  :(    It's still a very nice model that's not too easy to locate.

It would have made a nice pair with the Sandoz St-Christopher I had... but I traded that one. I'm sure the new owner will be interested...   :)

Hi    My time to shine in the sun is drawing to and end soon.  :(
(6 of 6) will be up for auction on Saturday. So here is a little sneak preview of the last knife.
The Canada Post Lock Out has been a monkey wrench for us in Canada. The little extra for the last knife has not arrived and looks like it will be mailed later. I will keep that one secret.  ;)
So here is the hint.

Thank you Chako for the pictures. Why do  knives look better at your house than they did in mine?

I thought I was quietly adding Canadian Rangers decals in with the winners parcels. Who would notice?

The Canadian Rangers are everywhere!  A little late getting to this one.

The knife is beautiful, a great example of the Campingmesser/Picnicker,  this one has an Elinox stamp on the obverse, nickle-silver inlay for the Sandoz logo as well as the Victorinox sheild and Camping inlay, scraper in the caplifter, metal head tweezers, and no eye in the reamer, but the corkscrew has no groove.  Looks like they tried the no-groove corkscrew on the Elinox line first?

Thanks again to Rick for locating and offering these very special SAKs.

That's one's very nice. I have a Motorist that's very similar - same early 70s vintage and Sandoz on the back.

Regarding the non-grooved corkscrew, Elinox definitely did get them first. Grooved corkscrews are more expensive to make, so the Elinox line, being the "economy" line, got the solid ones. First was in the late 50s when they actually got solid 5-turn corkscrews. These didn't last long and they quickly went to the grooved version.

In c. 1974 Vic made a big change that Elinox line to cut costs. Bright red ABS scales and pot metal corkscrews were the biggest changes. Given the age of that knife, my guess is that it has one of those early pot metal corkscrews, not the later solid type that the Victorinox line got that were much better quality. These early ones have a tendency to snap off pretty easily.
