anything you really like, your favourite,
on: June 07, 2011, 02:02:09 PM
As it says, post your favourite Mt,knife, torch ,pouch, etc, etc, etc, anything,

ill start, ok why not the wave,  :Di got my first in 98 and loved it, the drivers did fold now and then and did drive me nits and it did have a lot of flat heads  ::) But it was such a handy tool and i realy liked the OHO outer blades, although this was my first MT so i didnt know any different, well most know my story on what happened to that wave i got it replaced as was going wonky  :D how do i feel about the newer model  :ahhh its great, pretty much what i got use to with the older wave but improved, i love the bit adapter and have made so many mods for it, my only gripe is the scissors as prefered the old waves version, but hey i carry a classic or now similar type of keychain knife so i use those scissors most of the time, i love the new wave and have only recently started thinking about getting a charge, may be  ;)

next is the buck 112 ranger, back in 1980 while on a camp trip with the school i was 11 , i brought a folding hunter of around this scale, of course it was one of the many buck copies, but i loved it , it was my first pocket knife,i only recently got this 112 but is so comfy in the hand and a real solid knife, its one of my new backpack carries, a recomended knife to anyone wanting a classic solid hunter,

well we have said alot about the 710 so ill not go on but its a very good knife for the price and i use it a lot around the house,

next my EDC pocket knife these days, the buck 303 cadet, its a perfect size pocket knife, very solid and has a great snap to the spring bars, this one is a older early 80's model made by camillus for buck, i love long pull nail nicks and i really like stockman blade sellection as gives some smalller blades that i can get out in front of folk without scaring them  :D i have a few more items ill add later so this is me for now, what are yours   :tu:

Sorry for the bad picture.  Using one of my favorites, the Motorola Atrix to take a picture of my current favorites while sitting in my office.  Currently, the entire office is dark with no lights on which is pretty much the way most of us like it.

Pictured Schrade Senior Rancher Stockman (it's a very cheap one that I got on eBay just to see if I liked the size and pattern and it turned out to be a good knife with great fit and finish).  Next up, the Kershaw Tanto Zing... I didn't like it the first day, but it's really grown on me since then.  Tinker and BO Swisstool.. those kind of speak for themselves and of course, paracord and zip ties get an honorable mention.

Some compasses I like. Suunto MC-2D, MB-6 & SAS button compass. Both of the Suunto have global needles. I havent had the MB-6 very long but I really like it. The SAS button compass stays in my FAK

Don't ask David about compasses... don't ask about compasses, don't need another addiction.  So, how's about that cool tractor!?!  My uncle has a pretty nice collection of tractors.  All John Deere, a couple of older models he's restored.  ::)

I'm currently in love with the Juice line. I have a s2, cs4 and kf4 and my favorite is the s2. SAKwise it would be the wenger traveler of vic executive. Flashlight, hm, a combo of itp a3 in the pocket and 47 aa2 tactical in the bag. Favourite pen is the Zebra telescopic. Favourite lighter IMCO Streamline. As for sunglasses, the Polaroid ones I've been carrying for the last 10 years, love the polarised lenses. Still waiting on my Tilley hat but I presume it will be an instant favourite, for the price it better be. :D

If you think Glaswegian is bad (and it can be) you should try understanding someone with a thick Aberdonian accent.  Totally incomprehensible. ::) ;)

My (and the rest of Scotland's) favourite soft drink. :D

(Image removed from quote.)

I scored 3 cans of this at our "El Corte Ingles" supermarket, they had a display with a bunch of foods/drinks from other European countries, there were 5 cans, but 2 were exploded/empty... it's defo not a usual find for Spain!
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

At first I debated on reporting you to the moderator for enabling a "soon to be" addiction,   :twak:   but then I realized they'd probably just throw in more sites for things like flashlights or watches to go along with this, I eventually gave up and went to that website... I can see I am going to have to spend some time and very likely some money on this site.  They have some really nice compasses.   8)

Favorite soup recipe:

Garden Vegetable and Pesto

Ingredients

1 – 28 oz can diced tomatoes
3 zucchini, diced
1 large onion, diced
1 large green bell pepper, diced
4 stalks celery, diced
4 carrots, diced small
1/4 cup basil pesto, or a small jar
1 large bunch of fresh Kale, chopped
olive oil
2 quarts, or enough to cover all vegetables, vegetable or chicken stock
salt and pepper to taste
1 small can tomato paste

Method

1. Preheat a large soup pot. Drizzle with olive oil. Add onions, green peppers, celery and carrots. Saute until translucent. Add zucchini and kale. Saute until kale has wilted. Then add canned tomatoes, tomato paste and stock. Add enough stock to cover vegetables. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 15 – 20 minutes, or until vegetables are very tender.

2. Add basil pesto and simmer for about 5 minutes and serve

 :)
Yeah, you right...

David, I can't remember who sent me the recipe to give credit where it's due. The smell of that soup simmering and fresh bread baking is incredible. A very freezer friendly soup as well.
Yeah, you right...

Is it bad that it took me about five minutes to find the beer in that photo?
