It doesn't have to have a sharpened clip to be a bowie mate, just so long as it fits the bowie profile :)

Agreed but true ones usually are, but your right not always and clip point is my least favorite blade.
A bowie is a knife designed for fighters, which is something I don't need. this one does have good balance and feel.

how about this one?

is the black one a bowie? technically yes but it was designed for everyday use, the hook
was added for mass appeal and versatility but the thickness (1/4 inch) the modified clip point blade,
the handle material (Resiprene C) the grind was made for EDCing. :)

All three of my mini-grips have the thumb stud, but I wanted to try the hole (no jokes), so I ordered two mini-grips BM555, one in plain edge and one in serrated.  I do have a blade with the hole (Spyderco Native) and I've found that I can flick that open just as fast as one with a thumb stud, so I don't think I'll have any trouble liking my new Benchies.

I prefer holes to studs.  :)

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

The blade is .098" thick and a bit over 4 1/2" long. The handle is also about 4 1/2".
just under 5 oz and stainless steel.

Finally got a confirmation from David at Fenixstore that my Fenix L0D Q4 Holiday edition is on the way.  :mail:  :D I can't wait to get this puppy! I also have on order from where I work the Maglite 3W LED upgrades for my 3D Maglites. $14/each ain't bad. I'm going to have to find a way to heatsink them, but that'll be part of the fun!  :)

Happy Holidays, whatever you celebrate!

What material are the scales made of?

I have a few things on the way.
Leatherman CS2 with the plastic sheath, and a Fisher Astronaut pen.  I am spending my Christmas money that I got from mom and dad. :)
