Picked this up locally yesterday, as a wine enthusiast I need a good opener, and my plastic opener was on its last legs.

I have never heard of “Grunwerg” before, but it seems extremely well made and has with real wood too. Even came in a real wood box as well.

You could get those things for under $20 not two years ago, brand new. I was stupid for not buying a serrated Highlander back then, now I can't find one used for that.

well I hope that the knife/tool does not bear any resemblance to the Les Stroud multitool  :D
and that is a great deal on a Swisschamp  :tu:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I just snagged a SOG ToolClip (the big version) for $58 on eBay. BOO-YEAH!

 :gimme: :gimme: :gimme:

Hope I wasn't competing against any of you here. And if I was, and it's any consolation, I was prepared to pay a LOT more than that.

Yeah, I really wanted this one. I've been collecting the copies and have been wanting a real ToolClip to compare them against. I've been looking for one for a bit now, and this is the first one that's come up since I started watching for them. I didn't want to spend $150 (the current BIN of a brand new one, which has been sitting up there on eBay for quite a while now), but I was willing to pay a bit more than the average going price. As it turns out, I paid a bit under, so I'm a happy man.

I also snagged a NOS older generation micro toolclip a few weeks back for $17.50.

So yeah, I'm thrilled at the moment!

Charles.

From here, I've got a Seaboard Steel MT from Charles on the way.

Guess these count as "on the way" even though I'm waiting on an invoice for combined shipping ($7.50 each times four knives added up to an $30 shipping charge if I stick with what was originally calculated automatically), when it should be around $8 for all four knives.

I found a seller in my area with several knives advertising the Westmoreland Coal Company (who used to own several mines in my area), but limited myself to two of them, an Imperial USA Frontier (their high end, non shell-handle line of the 1970s and early '80s) 4515 lockback and 4135 Medium Stockman with wood scales. Few attracted any bids, so I was able to score them for $10 each. Some oxidation from poor storage, but I doubt these were ever carried or used.

The lockback is a 4515

4135 Medium Stockman

I also won these two beaters from the same seller for a dollar each-- a Sabre USA (Colonial for Cole International, the owner of Kabar at the time) Large Stockman and a Boker USA Serpentine pen. These will be farm and yard work knives.

Got my ToolClip today. Honestly I'm not that impressed. I expected it to be better than this. It's not bad, mind you... just not what I envisioned.
