Thanks Steve,
I was amazed at it not going for more.  Most that I have seen on the bay have not been in as good a condition, were a few years newer, had no pouch and went for 2 to 3 times as much.   I'm pretty excited.  :woohoo: It just might make it for my Birthday too.  Happy birthday to me.
Still patiently waiting.  :mail:          :mail:

That's a great knife, Douglas! It's awesome you found one for that price, so that makes it all the better. :)

Are you going to do a restoration(light cleaning and gluing the scales so they don't come apart) it or leave it be?

Hi Greg,

Thanks, I've been looking for these for a while now.
No idea on the marks. I do know it was made in France. I won't know the rest until it gets here.  :dunno:

I finally got back to this.   Marked Made in France on the blade tang, Depose on body near the nut, and E.J Coles on the blade. I purchased it out of Michigan. E. J. Coles appears to be a store in Canada that was bought out in the 40's.

Found one of these for 10 euro on eBay, so I figured I'd give it a try. Hopefully it will arrive before Christmas.

And heres to add to my odd (and worrying) obsession with messing with electronics, fixing computers and smartphones and just taking things apart and putting them back together in general

Correction: it appears the company sold in 1928.

 very nice.
I think the Walden, NY Schrades are some of the nicest vintage traditionals. :)

Discount store in town had the 5WR and 6LN variant for $6 each; I bought both. The 5WR does fix the 6LNs blade length problem, but I've always had the problem with two things: whatever pot metal they made the blade out of, and the fact the bit driver is garbage.

Oh, on another note; the desktop is finally out of warranty (it's 3 or 4 years old now) and I'm thinking about putting a better (Nvida, since not one game I play likes Intel) graphics card in for gaming. Maybe even an AMD processor.  So guess you're not the only one with that obsession.

:like:  While a big fan of the Executive, I feel the Ambassador is really the better daily carry knife due to its simplicity.  Just like the Classic, just a more useful size.
