Leatherman - Surge Multi-Tool (BO)   ....Don't know why, but I just always wanted one!

Victorinox - Attachment thingy (Black) ...thought it would make a nice addition to my 111mm SAK Soldier

Ordered all in BLACK ...because I'm BATMAN!

Yeah don't mind me...I am just enjoying my mid-life crisis....  :D

...Gonna start looking at a mid-life crisis mobile soon.....I'm thinking something with a V8, those usually make for the ultimate mid-life crisis mobiles....what do you think?

The problem with the American ones is that I don't have enough grey hair to match a Corvette, and I don't have enough hair to grow a Mullet to match a Camaro/Firebird....and there's not enough crowds to hit while leaving Cars & Coffee here to get a Mustang....so hmmm...

Italian cars usually dissolve like those vitamin tablets you drop into a glass of water, once they go outside here in the northern climate......and I am afraid what people might think when they see someone blue eyed and blonde haired behind the wheel of a V8 German car...I am Scandinavian after all

On a serious note, the "Yank tanks" are expensive, especially in some what good a condition and all parts need to be ordered from the USA and only US car speSmurfpillsts will touch them over here....no regular garage will go anywhere near them. On the other hand there's a great online community for pretty much all of them, listing and tackling pretty much every problem those cars have ever had and plenty of vendors as well (but again every thing has to be shipped from the USA and some don't want to ship internationally, but even when they do you it can be a nightmare with customs)

The Italians undoubtably has made some of the most beautiful car designs, but like their American counter parts only speSmurfpillst shops will tough them, and a lot of them can be expansive and hard to find parts for. And annoyingly most of the vendors don't speak english or not very well.

On the other hand (at least here in Denmark) most garages are familiar with most german cars, both new and old, and the old ones are about as well build and reliable as an old car gets, parts are usually widely available but they can be quite expensive, especially if you are going for OEM parts. There are alot of online communities for the German cars too, but a lot of them require speciality tools, for stuff beyond just maintenance and upkeep, which can be expensive.

But in all 3 cases, finding a good example or at least one in decent shape here in the northern countries that isn't rusted to Swiss cheese can be expensive too

Good point MMR  :tu:
I would go for a German car
There are some good Audi cars
That have a V8 engine

If I had the money it would
have to be a American car :tu:

I just love the amount of V8
cars you can choose from  :like:

Oh trust me, if money was no obligation; there would be a silver C2 Corvette Stingray and a black 67-68 Mustang fastback in my garage before anyone can say "'Murica! ..F**k Yeah"......But holy moly those are expensive, and prices on them just keeps going up  :ahhh

The little kid in me always wanted a Hummer H1...I had like 3 posters of a H1s in my room as a kid  :dd: :dd:

Did you know they actually started making them again?

No idea, the US military has been talking about finding a replacement for the HUMVEE for a while now.

Man their website wasn't easy to find...but apparently they are sold as HUMVEE C-Series  ("C" for Civilian) and not Hummer H1 anymore.

http://humvee-export.com

They also have a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HUMVEEEXPORT/

Only from what I am told from friends I have that served in the US military, the 6.5L diesel engine is extremely underpowered and also unreliable.

On their website there is a petrol / gasoline option of a GM LS3 V8, which has been proven to be a pretty much bomb proof engine in many other GM vehicles and even non-GM vehicles.

Is the body and chassis still built the same
Or have they gone for thinner metal  :tu:

I literally just read through their entire website and even the brochure, I don't see them saying anything about what's any different about it from the military version.. :dunno:

As far as I am aware, the original HUMVEE had all its heavy armour in its undercarriage (to protect against mines) the rest of the vehicle was made of aluminium panels with some type of kevlar in the doors.

Its only the later models that had/has any thick armour in the doors, roof etc.

Maybe someone on here who served in the US Military can add something / correct me here?

So maybe this "Civilian" version is just aluminium doors, roof etc.? ...just a guess  :dunno:

You would think it still has armoured panels
But a lightweight hummer would
make sense for a civilian version  :tu:

It's also very "Borderline" at 3493 kg / 7700 lbs ...when anything above 3.5 Ton you are required to have a truck drivers (C Class) licence for in Europe.

I kind of wonder how our soSmurfpillst tree hugging governments would road tax something like this and how insurance companies react to these as well.

At least here in Denmark they need to go through a vehicle "Type" / "Class" approval to be appropriately taxed and registered, and since this doesn't really have anything to Class it after and doesn't share anything with any other vehicles on the road, it makes me wonder if it's even possible to get something like this registered.

What kind of finish is that on the handles? It has a nice contrast with the bit of polish on the rest. :)
