I’ve never had an Alox SAK, so my next target. Probability 2 layer Pioneer so I’ve got no excuse not to carry.  :)

Two SAKs on their way, a Grand Prix and a Sentry. Missed out on a pizza, but I think that these will be better as I'm not renting them like I would be the pizza!
SAK - Champ, Huntsman, Grand Prix, Sentry, Classic SD, Swiss Card Classic. Multitools - LM Skeletool CX, LM PST II, LM Wave. Flashlights: Thorfire TG06S, Lumintop Tool AAA, Maglite LED 2xAA. Knives: Sanrenmu 7078MUX-GKJ & GVK

Thank you, Greg!

The one I am getting is supposedly unused, but with a small storage blemish(which I may or may not attempt to repair). We'll see if it was represented properly soon enough. :ahhh
But, for $150, I'm probably going to be happy with it(seeing as perfect NIB examples are sold at $300). :woohoo:

Pioneer X. I've been after one for a while, and just picked one up in hiraethus' for sale thread.

It's destined for surgery eventually, but want to give it some carry time before that happens. First though, I need to figure out some cheap, quick and simple way to change the feel of the scales. I utterly abhor the feel of the 84mm and 93mm alox scales. It sets my nerves on edge. I might try gluing some thin leather on as a temporary fix.

You could try coating it with some clear nail polish.

Would that fill the "tread" of the scales?  I don't think it's the aluminium that's the issue, as I don't have this issue with the Gerber Balance or even my alox Rambler with it's smaller pattern. I'm wondering if I might even get away with just sanding it flat.

I think it would fill in the grooves probably take a few coats, maybe sanding the flats in between coats. But yes I suppose you could just sand the scales flat as well.
