Just a reminder - I have a Wave on the way.

Got me a Victorinox SD coming in from eBay.  It'll be the diner for a scale swap on my newest MiniChamp.

My intro to older LEGO Technic; and (hopefully) out of the Dark Ages.   I've really lost interest in LEGO in the past five years or so, and I really don't know why. Really need to start cleaning and organizing what I've got (LEGO bin is full of knockoff parts and various junk); and I've had an interest in older LEGO since I got into it.  These two Universal sets not only have features LEGO rarely does in sets their size, but the window boxes also have plastic organizer trays for the parts built-in to the packaging.

8040 will be my introduction to pneumatics. I've had a set with linear actuators, but A: those don't work well without  Power Functions, and the large excavator (over a thousand pieces) was so large and complex, it was never built. Thus, I never really got to learn how to use them.  At 163 pieces, it should be fairly easy to figure out. Nothing really complicated either--just a pump, valve, ram, and some hose. But then, older instructions are notoriously harder to read.

8020, basically because I was getting 8040 to start with. The two sets aren't really collector's items and are thus low-value in used shape. Thus, I got the pair of sets from a member on the Brickset Forum for $35 shipped.

Looking through an old Bernard catalog I found the Schollhorn 42-8 pliers.  This is Bernard's slipjoint pliers with a hammer poll. Located one on the 'bay, made an offer and now they are headed this way.

Actually, this-time I had one "outbound".  Since Xmas is coming, my brother; who also happens to also be an 'old navy squid' like me, lost-his-blade.  To abbreviate the story, I proffered to get-him something to augment his handgun-carry.  So I took the liberty, and ordered a Cold Steel SR1 as his new carry.  Price/value/utility seemed to hit all-the-marks in my decision.  He knows firearms pretty-well but his knowledge of knives is extremely-limited.  So, he's relying on me, and my expertise.  :o :D

Fiskars Excalibur. The design that would later be adapted into the Paul Chen Multitasker.  Only have ten bucks in it.

Just learned from the MTO Encyclopedia that a pruner version exists--gotta have that one!

Thanks, Steve!  Hope he likes-it.  It's hard to buy gifts for others, a very subjective-process to say the least.  :o :D

I second the wanting one of the pruner versions.

Have any been offered for sale? I haven't seen any. This is the first Excalibur I have seen; and I found it by accident browsing a seller's other listings.

I've seen one in the past few years.  It went for more than I was willing to pay at the time.  I think, Greg and Bob have examples.

I have both the  Multi-Tasker and the  Excalibur Multi-Snip variants (shears, not pruners).  I think a few other MTo members might also have some.

The Excalibur pruners seem to be much more elusive.
