Scored this Tradesman with a nail file and corkscrew on Evil bay. From what I understand these are somewhat rare.

Man I miss Wenger. They gave us toolsets we didn't want or even know we needed and Victorinox can't bring themselves to just make a new SAK that isn't a rehash of something from 50 years ago..

Don’t forget discontinuing popular models by Victorinox.
Although can’t knock too much because they did introduce a Farmer X.

I have the Mini that a member posted (last month  ) Well, I nearly have it as they are holding it pending payment of a customs charge (which I've now paid) and it should arrive on Thursday, or not

I'm also in the process of buying a JPST from another member  :tu: and I anticipate similar issues  :dunno:

Still, it's all worth it (isn't it  )

oh yes, there's always that £8 +vat international handling fee nowadays, plus if you exceed some arbitrary number for how much its worth, that seems to change randomly, you also get nailed with import duty

I've got a few more things coming for my edge pro apex, the magnet, the bench mount and the slide guide.  At some point in the future I'd also like the scissors clamp/guide.

oh, and hessian sacks for my early potatoes

Spyderco Byrd Slip-It Wings. It is a factory second, but for $40,  I couldn't say no, given they've been discontinued for several years. Been wanting a knife with dual OHO plain and serrated blades for ages. I'm not buying any more 111mm SAKs for users due to liner strength, so Dual Pro, Hunter XT, and Dutch Army Knife are out. Benchmade Outlast is too expensive (but, might I add, my absolute dream knife), as is the Spyderco Dyad. The Byrd is basically the same thing, except modified for use in Spyderco's budget Byrd line.

At 3 3/4" closed, it's just about right. Definitely gonna see use in the challenge this month.

If you asked about almost anything else I wouldn't be able to answer that question.  They are the Ford Edsels of the Plierench universe. Memorable, ugly, and disfunctional .

Some Knipex combination pliers for EDC. I've tried hard to resist the temptation of carrying dedicated pliers for some time now, in an effort to not look like a dork. But I look like one with the tie dye shirts and converse Chuck Taylor's i wear everyday anyway so I don't care anymore
These will be getting paired with a Wenger Handyman. Match made in heaven

Considering I wear DIckie's mechanic's shorts that have a pliers pocket, they don't look out of place at all. I usually have the 160mm Combination Pliers and/or the 125mm Cobra in addition to a SAK and/or MT depending on the job.

May have made an expensive boo-boo here at just under $100 for this "Parts or Repair" lot of Kershaw A-100s, but I think I can repair #1 and #3 with parts from #2 (hardware) and #4 (again, hardware).

$100 is not a mistake for 4 MTs (is it  :dunno: )

I can only imagine what I would have to pay here in the UK (even if they would ship  :ahhh  )

Good score  :tu:

yeah I ordered this poch for it, it rides kind of high on the belt so I should be able to tuck my short over the pliers no problem  :D

Even if you only managed to get one complete A100 from the lot you are doing OK based on the prices I've been seeing on evilbay recently  :tu:

When you've finished re-building I might be interested in buying your leftovers to use for replacing missing bits on a couple I have. Let me know if they are surplus to your requirements.

PS:  Remember to use a bit of heat on the screws to loosen the locking compound (I'm going to try a soldering iron next time to isolate where I apply the heat)

Well I have a very unique wood staff soon to be on its way! It’s unfinished so I get to make it custom, what’s so unique you ask? The wood is from a cactus! Anyway here’s what’s on its way,,

Of all the first GECs to get to  :dunno:.  COVID saved me some money strangely so I had a few bucks to spend.  I like the Dixie Stockman and that Possum you have.  I wanted something different that what I currently have tho so I'm still looking.  GEC folk buy them up quick so theres not a lot in my price range.  The secondary market is pricey.

There are plenty of GECs about, just avoid the hot models.

Some models remain unsold for years and functionally are fine, just not popular enough to be of interest to fans and too expensive for the casual buyer who can get a case, buck, RR for the same task cheaper.

Thanks.  Its an interesting group who buy GEC.  They have made one heck of a business thats for sure.  I also like the Pioneer Trapper which doesn't seem to be very popular as its also available.

GEC's fixed blades, for the most part tend to be a tiny bit cheaper. I think the #23 is one of their more popular models, which is why they're so hard to get. I'm a fan of Jumbo Trappers, and a good cheap alternative is the Remington Bullet pattern reproductions by Camilllus and Bear and Son. Utica made one as well, in addition to a cost-effective import called the Pigman Hog buster.  \

The GEC's on my list all have sub-3.5" blades, as it's what not only is legal to carry, but also practical.
