Tools help you do jobs, can be grandpas little helper, I used to bring the kids into work on the days off and the older kid would walk between the shelves and toss out any stuff found, he’d come out the other end so covered in dust he’d shake it off and make a cloud, but hey, all the fallen products that we couldn’t reach were now in hands reach! That and it was cleaner, lol..

Lol, OMG that kid would come out gray! But he liked it, he thought it was an adventure! The cool thing would be he’d find a shower head that’s been sitting back there for over 4yrs, we no longer sold them and the sale price was already knocked down like 98%! So here’s this $60 shower head and I got it for $2,
During lunch since we got an hour and I was so used to only a 1/2hr I used to walk the store and look around, once I found down in tools these two old compound laser miter saws, just sitting waaay up, we haven’t sold them in ages yet they were originally $379, yet listed for $75, and I got one for $50! If I totaled the amount that I bought while working it would have been over 20k, yet I didn’t even spend 2k! So good in one way yet so bad in another!

Thats awesome.  I would have taken advantage as well.

I upgraded my bathroom for a whopping $25! We were selling the displays and my bathroom was kinda crappy, it had a 30” vanity when it could fit a 48”! So I bought, your going to love this!
1, a 48” vanity originally, $499, got it for $5
2, a 48” medicine cabinet, $299, go it for $5
3, a 48” light bar, was $199, got it for $5
4, a 24” toilet cabinet, maybe $75, of course $5
$, and lastly a 49” composite sink, ready, originally $1,199, got it for $5,
So I dusted them all off and installed, something that would have cost like more the $2,300 for $25! I had a new faucet so that also got installed so talk about fancy! And for CHEAP!! :D

I have two wood handle / slab pocket knives on route. One is a traditional one, and the other one is more modern. Hopefully a review on each of them this Wednesday morning in the "Edge Tools" part of the forum. - OHT  :salute:

Scored my brother a Vic Tinker for his birthday.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Being an old gadget fart, I had my eye on multitools for a lot of years.  I gifted my daughter a pricey one (>$100) a few years ago.  I thought now that I'm 76% of a century, I will splurge for myself - a poor man's bucket list, so to speak.

I started out on Amazon with looking at Leathermans, or is it Lettermen, like the '60's dude quartet.  Anyway, I was initially drawn to the Surge.  Although it is a really nice one for a really nice amount of money, it lacked a couple of things, the pliers weren't spring loaded, the scissors were rather small and I suspect difficult to use, and it lacked a belt clip.  For another twenty bucks or so, I could get one with more or better stuff.

But instead I looked around.  There was not one gizmo (aka "multi-tool") that had all the gizmos on it that I wanted.  Note:  I'm just a random tool sort of guy with no particular use - not a carpenter, electrician, mechanic, etcetera etcetera.  So I asked myself, "why get just one? Why not get several so that (nearly) all of my gadget guy bases are covered?"

So I did.

I ordered the Sog Power access because I like the compound action of the pliers, plut it uses standard bits and a jewelry driver. No scissors, but that's ok.

I ordered a Nextool Heavy Duty Spring Action because it was "heavy duty spring action" but mostly because it has useable scissors and a belt clip

I ordered a Wetols (same as a Mossy Oak but a couple dollars less - hey! I'm cheap!!!) multi tool 21 in one because it got good reviews, is cheap and has most of what I want.

I ordered a dpnao (probably made just outside of Wuhan, complete with 4th generation COVID critters hanging all over it) because it has an adjustable wrench AND pliers, a bunch of bits, and is really strange and ugly looking.  I can relate.

All four come in for around the price of one Leatherman Free (but not cheap).

For those who are curious, I've attached a screenshot of my nerd-driven Excel spreadsheet that that helped me whittle down (an old multi-tool knife phrase)  the gizmos that would cover all my bucket list wishes.

I'll be receiving this 4-gizmo combo sometime next week (week of November 7th 2022 for those reviewing this thread in 2046).

Exciting :mail:

As some of you know, I maintain the controversial stance of believing the pocket notebook is a multitool.
With that fact, with my constant use of this, I got myself a “subscription “ :tu:

Hemmed and hawwed for a bit, and ended up ordering a SOG Poweraccess. I’m looking for a decent multitool to clip to a pocket that can handle some quick around the house stuff. I don’t like the newer stuff with assisted blades they make and wanted something different from Leatherman or Victorinox.

I forget Benner started this thread long time ago!

gotta new Busse/Scrapyard knife coming. The last of the SR101 steel because the company that made the machines/tools for them went out of business (covid related) so they can’t make em anymore (in larger numbers) some proprietary process that they can’t duplicate. So they had a fire sale and I got one, blade is called WS-422 Stone Washed Finish. I’ll try n post pics when I get it  ;)

Never mind about that Poweraccess I ordered. The box it came in was all beat up and the tool itself wasn’t up to snuff. The handles rubbed up severely against the pliers when opening, and the bit grabber thing was so loose that the bit could spin in it. Sent it back.
