WTB: Mod work
on: June 23, 2011, 02:47:54 AM
Hello!

I am not sure whether it shows or not, but this is my first post here, so please forgive me if I fail in terminology, or offend in any particular way :-)

I am looking to pay someone to modify a Swiss Army Knife for me, and since I have no feedback here I will certainly pay before you do your work.

I am looking for a three layer (to keep down the size so it can actually be carried regularly) knife.  I am imagining one layer would be a large blade and a 91mm combo tool (http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Combo+Tool).  The second layer would be a Scissors. The third layer would be a pliers.  I would also like to see back layers of a Phillips screwdriver and an Awl.  Since I am already asking for what I imagine is a majorly modified knife, I would also like to replace the scales.  I would love to have orange (maybe with some visual texture) scales and would like to hear your suggestions on what would be good (scale tools could be nice, but definitely open for options).

Thank you for your time, and I am looking forward to hearing from some of you that feel up to the task!

~ReverendYo

You guys make me go a funny colour  :-[ :D

ReverendYo, you have a PM

For anyone else reading this.  I'm not agreeing to new mod jobs for a month or so as I presently have a backlog.  Not a huge backlog but its not fair to take on work when I can't get the knives back out in a timely fashion.

There will be auctions listed for mod work over in my little corner of EDCS when the current work has been cleared :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Thank you all for the suggestion of Neil, but as you can see from his response, he is currently unavailable.  Anyone else interested in making a few bucks by taking on a modification project for me :-)

Scott at the above address makes some beautiful knives too. He made my custom Tinker for a very reasonable price.

with scissors and the tools on top.

TattooSteve99 -- Yes actually, although I would also like a Awl, which I have been informed will need a bit of tinkering to get to work :-)

Reverendyo I would be happy to make one for you. Please pm me when you can. Also please make a little more showing here so we know that you're not a fly by forum and go. Thanks

My apologies on starting this thread in apparently the wrong section :-)
As far as making a better showing here, I honestly have very little useful info that I can add to the conversation, so I have held my tongue. I am a moderator in another online community, and I often wish more people there Tom the same philosophy.  Thank you again for your interest in making this SAK for me, I am excited :-)
