I was thinking about this problem and had an idea. Must try it to see if it works, though. Get a thin plastic straw and cut it to fit under the hook. Put the threaded needle inside. f you use the thread, you still have the same bulk from the straw, it won't fall out so easily. What do you think?

I used some headphone wire insulation to keep the glasses screws from falling out of the scissor layer of the Forester I used to carry. Straw could fit really nicely under the hook. Off-topic: my ferro rod is tiny. It fits under the scissors, and is held in by waxed cottonball tinder. I strike it with the back of the saw, which seems to generate more sparks than any of the other tools.
The hook could also be used to expose and lift the vas deferens when performing a vasectomy :-)
Steinar -I think you would do better (better full explanation and pics) of how to do a vasectomy byGoogling it. Assuming you have scissors and a needle and thread in your SAK, you have all the toolsneeded to do one. I don't recommend it as a do-it yourself project however.Rich
