Introducing the Leatherman Clip-Mini

My first mod. I think you'll like it. =)

Portability was perhaps the basis for the idea of the Mini Tool - "The World's Smallest Full-sized Pliers", so why not make more pocketable by adding a pocket clip?

Inspired by the Leatherman Sideclip (shown together below, the mini makes the Sideclip look really long!) Of course, it didn't help that many forumers was also asking for a clipped Juice. LOL.

"Miniclip" came across my mind but since the highlight is not the clip but the tool itself... I decided to name it the Leatherman Clip-Mini.

I do not have any power tools so everything was done with hand tools. Took me quite a bit of time in filing but I'm very happy with the results. No wobble at all. ;)

You have the right tool... but do you know how to use it the right way?

Very nice work.
Can you still get a full handed grip? How long is your closed multi-tool?

Randy

I think Leatherman Clipman, Miniclip, or CliptoMiniac would be better names.  :D

Looks great! :tu:

So did you simply replace the original pivot screw with the one from the Kick pocket clip, or did you drill and tap through the head of the old one? :)

Thank you  :)

Very nice work.

Thanks! Yes I can, grip is not adversly affected. I made sure the clip did not sit too high (does not protrude off the handles too much). In fact, it's probably more effective to grip it lower for leverage and comfort (the handle is smooth on the lower part). When opened fully it works just like any full-sized multi. Also, have not heard of anyone having issues with the sideclip's clip (same concept) :)

The mini is about 2.6 inches closed.  :multi:

Very nice. :salute:

Thank you  :salute:

Please excuse the small pictures.. had to resize it to fit the post restrictions..

I like it :)

Haha... me too, very much in fact. Looks nicer in real life. I try to take better pics.  :tu:

Bingo!  :tu: The kick pivot screw fit perfectly. I was apprehensive at first.. With about 75% certainty I decided to take a chance. Now I have a kick to mod.  :D My plan is to make the same mod so that I have a 'family' of 3 clipped tools with similiar style...  :multi:
