Yes buy both then you can explain this: I had to have 2 cause I need an extra one just incase I lose one. ;)
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

I would say buy it. I'd like to hear more of people's experiences with that crazy blade.

This knife would make a great pass around, as everyone is curious about its wierd shape and functionality...not many people would want to do that with such an expensive piece though.

I would be willing to pass mine around, but only if it goes better than the last few passarounds have gone.  We've had folks that have sat on knives and tools for some time, and some who have disappeared with tools.  Chances are it is part of the regular attrition, but it's not right to lose a tool simply because someone else has something going on in their life.

And, with an MSRP of about $220, this is one I'd like to be certain I get back afterwards.

How about a deposit system? Something like a dedicated MTO PayPal account, where a member sends it the amount for the the value of the tool before it get's mailed to him, and then the next, and next, etc... Once the next person gets the tool, the money is then refunded to the last person.

Probably would be a PITA to manage if two or more tools are out there, but just a thought.
Never underestimate the power of the fleece

I thought of that but how many of us have a spare couple of hundred dollars to just hand out like that?  I think at some point I'll just bite the bullet and start sending it around.  Maybe a Charter Members only thing given the value of it?

maybe also set a limit of how long you are expected to have it for - 1 week or so, so people don't feel put out getting reminders to pass it on.

How can you ever be in doubt? I am convinced (so are you) that you really need that tool. It will expand your capabilities to do so much more. I refer to your everyday capabilities (edc2 - not everyday carry but everyday capabilities).

So now this forum also have officially a new term: "edc2"!
