I see two merit badges in this single thread:

Glow (the rescue tool).
111mm Level 3 collector (well over the dozen required).

Not much hope for thr FF except with the sak saw blade so far.

Not much hope for thr FF except with the sak saw blade so far.

There are a few SAK tool edges that may produce spark, but for a single blade 111, doubt it.. maybe the tweezer edge. ..

(By the way, what I said earlier about VIctorinox calling the OH Alpineer a Sentinel is quite wrong. I think it was Amazon who mislabeled it, cos when my serrated OH Alpineer arrived it did indeed say Alpineer on the box. The website called it a Sentinel. Sorry for spreading incorrect information)

Easy mistake to make TP.

The single blade Sentinel with a corkscrew was renamed to be an Alpineer in the 2017 111mm changes

Yes sir. I joined the OHT club in the last year.

I debated between the one hand vs. two-hand opening Trailmaster for a while. I picked the OHT because it's different. Admittedly, I'm not sold on the one-handedness of it, because it has a back spring that you need to overcome and get past the point where it can close on you. To make matters worse, I find that I have to be especially careful to have a grip on it to keep my fingers out of the way while keeping the handle from rotating toward the blade. Still, it doesn't take away from the things I use it for - it's mainly for the saw, and its the only Phillips I have for "just in case"

I can close mine from the locked position by depressing the lock and then my leg or other hard surface to where the blade moves slowly a little till it closes safely under my control.

I've been meaning to retire my (now long discontinued) 2007 Fireman.

So far I'm tied between an OH Locksmith (since serrated blades cut work stuff better, and having both the excellent Vic saw and file on board is good for work use as well) and the Polizia Di Stato (Rescue Tool plus woodsaw). This one is better for emergency use, as it has pretty much the same stuff as the Fireman, but is fully built around handling emergency situations. Today's cars have laminated windows. The RT belt cutter is more agressive, and able to be opened with gloves (which the old 108mm style on the Fireman cannot).

So, uh, which one? Both are mostly Euro models, with the Polizia Di Stato being exclusive to Italy, and many Italian cutlery stores not shipping to USA. I missed out on the Lamina exclusive Finnish M95 Camo Locksmith, which was really cool.
