MXDL quick mod

Nothing too technical with some very cheap lights

Does anyone else own one of these little 'MXDL' 3W AAA torches?
I had a couple arrive from Hong Kong today
Thought to myself what a shame they will not stand up by themselves as the 'stainless' end is convex

So I took it to see my belt sander and after 2 mins and some warm fingers it turned out a bit flatter
Then thought to myself if only it was magnetic....(should have used a smaller magnet really)
I should have used more care as the magnet is a bit lopsided, maybe next time

A lot of lads can be replaced by either a magnet or a bit of sticky tape!

I keep forgetting when I'm trying to hold something steady on the sander

if I'm half way through and its a bit hot $:-\$
it will end up red hot

But I can't stop because it will bugger up what I'm doing

Simple, quick and easy, no not me

I meant what I did to the lights

As they were so cheap I was not worried too much so I've impressed myself again
It has made these little lights a lot more usefull to me

I have one of those too - not bad for the very low cost either. Now I need to get medieval on its a*s and get the magnets out... hurrah

I just did the same thing, sorry to bring up an old thread.

I chucked up the flashlight up in my little lathe and took off the convex surface after a couple of minutes. A little bit more high tech, but did the job!

Im not too sure mate as would need polishing up and probably wont last, mine looks really used and abused, i stick it in my mouth csi style while checking residents charts during the night

) ITP EOS A3 Upgraded... And I don't want it pink anymore (obviously).... What to do??

was it red Kojkan and turned pink, ive had a few things do this like mt sadly lost CAK alox , i argued the T#ss it was red but everone kept saying it is pink

I think if you sand it you will be left with pink stripes in the grooves

You could try oven cleaner I have heard that it will strip anything

Here is a mod that I did in another thread
I needed a red light for the G/F as she wanted to look at star charts
I took one of these torches apart and put a small bit of red gel behind the lens

FYI, These lights are not water proof as the lens is just a push fit
