Is the Stylus Pro the new 45 Lumen model ? If so it has an upgraded switch . Mine was the earlier model , switch failed , and pocket clip broke . They would have fixed it under warranty , but i had already tossed it .

By way of contrast , a Microstream I gave a former co worker has had the snot beat out of it for about 3.5 years , still going strong .

HDS ( AKA Ra ) are good , many have had personal contact with Henry ( head honcho ) . Novatac customer service is wel regarded .

I E-mailed Surefire about a wonky A2 tailcap a couple of weeks ago. They responded in less than 24 hours and shipped me a new one -- no questions asked -- almost immediately. I had the replacement in less than a week.

This is one of those "your mileage may vary" scenarios. I've read countless posts about people having the same experience as I had. I've also read about unanswered E-mails (and better results over the phone) and Surefire requiring a return of faulty part before replacement was shipped. Which I think is reasonable.

Arc Flashlight has the best guarantee I've ever seen till date. If there is a manufacturing defect in any of their light, they will replace it or refund your money, no questions asked. The do not require an RMA, but just a polite email or a phone call is all that is needed. It does not matter which numbered owner you are, or where was the light purchased from, or when. It does not matter whether the light is used or not. Typical manufacturing defects with Arc lights were poor ano, or off-center LED.

Probably also one reason why Peter Gransee (Arc's founder) did not do very well, nor is Arc doing very well now. As per today's standards', Arc lights are "dim" (Nichia 5mm LED), "over-priced" ($35-$45 shipped in the US), and "unregulated" (5 hrs to 50%, with 9 OTF lumens). Their AAA-P flashlight is not rivaled even today - no company can get that aggressive knurling, nor the bomb-proof-ness, nor the convenient size this one has (I actually boiled the flashlight head in water for 5 minutes to clean the sticky lint - it was squeaky clean, and works flawlessly. The head is "potted").

Its one company that I have high regards for, in terms of what "standing behind your product" should really mean, despite of their poor CS, etc. (remember they make huge losses due to the "abuse" of their guarantee). I haven't seen 4sevens mentioned is there a reason why? I hope there good cause I love their lights. I've dealt with them once. I called about dropping my quark and it wouldn't work. They gave me all info to return it but then the guy said before you send it you might want to try wiping the head out and the o-ring off. I thought that won't work but I'll try. By goodness it worked. My light is still going strong to this day. I love 4sevens lights.

I had an issue with my switches on my preons.
they sent me a couple switches I'm going to try them out to see if it helps.
thier customer service is pretty good so far.
I'm going to have to try your tip to see if that fixes it for me.
