Couldn't find this thread yet so I thought I would start one, just found the combo edge cx I've been looking for today brand new, love it already. It's not going to take the place one my belt that's reserved for my Vic spirit but there's prime real estate in my pocket! Took the pics for the great beer thread but this work too

Yep, it should be one for sure... I'm EDC'ing my skele this days and it's a great MT for just hanging around house, or general purpose...

Traded for one last month; Skeletool CX next to a Piranha for a visual size comparison.  :D

Nice blue one mate. :tu:  How's the finish?  Feel tough or likely to flake?

Nice lanyard xelkos, I'm not usually a fan but skele is a perfect candidate for a lanyard. Did you make it yourself?

Thank you!

It is painted, much the same as the red ones that have been around a while. If it were a carry tool it would chip/peel/flake (I can already see a bare spot on the lock release where the blade is held closed), but as it's a shelf queen it will be blue for a good long time.

I'm really liking the skele, for a descent knife in the pocket with my three most used tools it's pretty good. I looked at gerbers crucial and octane but didn't like the fit and finish of them. Carabiner a bit useless to me but I try to think of it as a utility hook. Anyways do you really need a file and saw when going out to dinner? Okay maybe but that's why the ST300 is in the glove box!

Oh, no. Never have made a lanyard. The aluminum ferrule was a spare computer part I had laying around. Para-Cord made it. Won a lanyard from Para-Cord's Facebook Page and they said I could change the colors if I wanted. Have bought a couple other lanyards from them since.

Have a purple and silver one, with a glow in the dark bead, on my Juice XE6 they made.

It's not that it's a bad tool, I just haven't managed to click with it.  I find it quite large for what you get; blade, screwdrivers, pliers and bottle opener.  Of those features I don't find it particularly comfortable as a screwdriver (plus the bit holder can be a fiddle) nor particularly comfortable as pliers. :-\  Good as a knife and a good bottle opener just isn't enough for me.

Now I'm sure that it has many other merits that I'm missing or are more important to others than they are to me so I'm not knocking it, plus it has too many fans for me to say they are all nuts  ;), it's just not the tool for me. :)

Agreed, the cool styling is just that... cool looking but it's definitely not the most ergonomic by any means

hi Seniors and Newbies alike..
my first discussion post (after the introductory thread)... to be in Skeletool owners Club...
pls do accept my sincere apology if my 1st post is a bit formal, as im aware of certain forum ettique (and pardon my english too)..

well, my 1st post and my old story of my 1st LM (apart from Vics).. .. a Skeletool (SS 1st), then comes the Red Rei version. Both were pre-owned, locally and from eb about a year ago..the Red has some paint nicks on them, and now kept in the holding bay...with other MTs...8-)

the frame design catches me, as its looks cool & futuristic and Skele SS is my bagged edc..
may need to get other colour too..thats the 'inner peace' to rein in the 'want'..

ps.. could not open the attached photo link, as im read/writing from mobile..

from a year on..im starting to get few Vics (sorry!) from Tim FVEAP , more LMs ... well thats another story....8-)

cheers..
Inner Peace  8-)

well you can either buy yourself a new CX, or you can buy an old stock standard Skele.  They were made with PE blades for years and only changed over quite recently so there must be some PE ones kicking around.

The one with the lanyard is getting alot of pocket time ATM. I use it mainly around the house and garden. As I was made redundant last friday I am using the time to sort out the garden.

Thanks Gareth. Couple of possibilities, but owing to the economic climate this is really not the time to be a community/ charity worker according to Daves Big Society I should be doing my job for free.
