What tools would you want to see that never were?

So, this is inspired by two threads that are ongoing, and rather than highjack them I'll start a new one. Like the title says, what tool(s) do you wish had made it into SAKs, either Vics or those other guys.

My first would be a long eye glasses screwdriver that is the same size as the pen for the plus scales, so that I can have my glasses screwdriver and the backside philips. I have never used the corkscrew for it's intended purpose once. It could even be put on the inletted scale, and made shorter than the pen, I'd be ok with that. Actually, very OK with that, so I can keep the pen to!

The second would be a heavier, scissor-like wire-cutter/stripper that is as wide a the pliers that have a small plier bit at the tip, similiar to what you find on the LM E4 Squirt.

So, what would other people put on their wish list?

Toothpick, tweezers, and pen for Alox Plus scales; I know a mod for it has been done, at least for the toothpick and tweezers.

You could always buy an Explorer Plus - that gives you the pen, pin, tweezers, toothpick and eyeglasses screwdriver.  You would not only have the Philips but it would be the good version that opens out of one end of the tool instead of in the middle.

Oh great. Now I have to add some more stuff to my mod ;)    More liners and more backsprings.

Actually, all you need is one or two additional liners; you can fit both the toothpick and tweezers on one scale, and maybe the pen, too, if you space it out appropriately. :tu:

Victorinox "Juice" line
91mm/84mm Whancliffe main blade

91mm Diamond file.

I'd like a file like my Victorinox Ranger has but on one side a diamond file that is suitable for knife sharpening - so I could use my SAK to sharpen knives amongst other things.  The file on my Wave is one of the few things it is ahead of my SwissTool X with, having the diamond file on one side and regular file on the other.

I'd like to have that eyeglasses screwdriver and a mini-flashlight.
The tweezers on my Victorinox is too flimsy, and the file should be better quality.
I use the scissors a lot but I like the scissors on the leatherman a lot better.
Wire cutters and strippers.
A handcuff key could come in handy.

You would think that with Swiss Cheese and SAKs they would've tried putting cheese knives in one of these by now.  :D

Yeah in my opinion that's one of the few gaps in the Victorinox tool lineup.
Back when I was deciding between the Wave and the SpiritX it was almost a deal breaker for me.

I think a double file like what you described would be fantastic. Sharpening fishhooks and needles is what first comes to mind for me.
But then you couldn't very well rely on it as your sole means of knife sharpening because what would you use to sharpen the SAK blade? hahaha it's so near and yet so far.  :D

Another thing I wouldn't mind seeing is a firesteel striker.
Sort of a specialized tool but simple enough that it could be included as part of another tool, much like the screwdrivers on the bottle and can openers.
I'm currently flirting with the idea of modding the backside fine screwdriver to include something along these lines, can't bring myself to use the awl or blade as a striker like some folks do.

I know the flint wheel assembly from a zippo lighter can be redesigned into a foldout version for a SAK. Coupled with a removable magnesium scale inlay it would make an awesome bushcraft knife.

A cheese knife?  I have enough SAKs, but I don't have one with a cheese knife - I could be tempted by one of those.  I wouldn't mind seeing another layer with the bottle opener & can opener and an option of a non-serrated main blade.  I can slice bread/tomatoes/whatever quite well with a plain edge blade, I don't really need a serrated blade for anything I ever cut.

 :climber:

I agree with diamonds on the file. Scissors added to a Farmer.  :gimme:

Short marlinspike or fid in place of corkscrew or Philips as a backtool. I bet someone has modded a Philips backtool to do this.

More plus nylon scales, for that matter more plus scales, and utilizing both sides. There should be a place for a real stainless steel needle. One could either have a holder on the end of it that will come off for use or an empty pen barrel as a receptacle that would require nothing but not filling the pen with ink and adding an extra slot for this sewing needle carrier.

The can-opener makes an OK striker, as does the saw.

The blade gets knackered pretty quickly doing that, but if you always use the part near the tang it remains usable.

I like how Wenger has more specialized tools than Vic.  Makes them unique and useful, and not just another SAK maker.
