Torx screws on Spydercos?
on: August 10, 2011, 03:08:52 AM
I have recently purchased two Spyderco knives that I really like.  I got the Tenacious and the Centofante 3.  I thought they were pretty good choices for my first Spydercos.  I also plan to purchase an Endura 4 in blue and a Delica 4 in purple, when the funds are avalable.  Possibly a Native too, later on.  For the time being my Centofante is going to be my EDC. I would like to switch the pocket clip to carry it tip up in my pocket.  The jimping on the blade hits my hand when I reach into my pocket as it sits now.  Can anyone tell me: A. What size are the torx screws on the Centofante 3? and: B. Where can I purchase a Torx driver that small?  Home Depot, Radio Shack.....?  BTW, what they say about Spydercos is true, once you start buying them, it's really hard to stop!!!!!!

All Spydercos (that use Torx screws) will use either T-6 or T-8 torx screws.  The screwdrivers should be available pretty well everywhere, hardware stores, electronics stores, department stores, about 500 million of them on eBay.

harborfreight.com has this kit for like $10 that has nearly all the sizes I've ever needed for any of my pocket knives.

These small Torx screws are used a lot in electronics so you can find them in a lot of electronics stores as "precision screwdrivers." I think I picked up mine at a Home Depot so that just shows the variety of places you can get them from.
Got those frog legs.
