Boker Plus Exkelibur II
on: August 11, 2011, 09:36:36 AM
Does anyone have any experience with this one?

IMHO it's nice urban EDC blade and I'm up to get one, just wanted to see if anyone can help with some wise words...  :D :D

I've googled that one but not much info in hands on...

It should be used for general EDC tasks.

did you see mrdagon007's review of it? and the bigger one review can also be found.

I was thinking of getting one at various times (when I get money I probably will). One person on another review said that the grind angle was too wide adn not sharp, and needed many hours on the sharpmaker to correct. Another with the more expensive wood variant had problems with the QC and had to send it back.

on the whole though everyone seems to rave about it, certainly looks

Nice!!!  I like that Boker.  I've been looking for a 'gentleman's knife' for a while now and I might have to try that one.

I picked up a Kershaw Crown I at the local Mall-Wart the other day on an impulse buy as it was only $15, but I'm very disappointed with it.  Extremely difficult to open, poor ergonomics, and much heavier than it's advertised weight (not to mention it's crappy high hollow ground blade).  At least I'm only out the $15.  It's just going to sit in my gear drawer though... the opening action on it is so poor, I'm afraid to gift it to my son as I think he'd injur himself trying to open it.
The first Noble Truth: life is suffering.  Only by accepting that fact can we transcend it.

I'm looking at prices of the Bokers in Germany vs. the US, and in the US, the knives are literally half the price of the germans. Fair enough, its not actually made in Germany, but still this annoys me about german prices.

Looking at all the prices you'll see it's more or less same thing!
