A darker shade of green on my #8.

I had my No10 in my rucksack yesterday and used it and a ferro rod to light my Trangia for a brew-up.

I encountered this ´chicken of the woods´ (Leatiporus sulphureus) today. I used the serpette #10 to clear away some undergrowth before making the pic, and to show the gargantuan size of the mushroom. The oak is dead even if it doesn´t know it yet.

I don't know about that, but the #13 Giant Opinel is great for splitting Watermelons.

Mind if a newb joins this club. I've got a #8 that I've had for about 6 years now. I keep it near my chair for any cutting tasks that pop up in the house. You know, like a roll of salami, opening the mail, slicing apples.  My grandson left it on the driveway about 4 years ago and it got runned over by a dammed old Ford, I hate Fords. Split the handle and bent the lock collar. I carved a new handle out of a piece of Canary wood and straightened out (round) the collar. Just as good as new and I don't let nobody touch it but me.

Still on my wishlist, but coming soon, this Opinel outdoor cutlery set. There´s a serrated #12 bread knife, a #10 with corkscrew, and a #6 peeler, with a cutting board and a microfiber cloth. To be honest, I´m getting this for the serrated #12 and the cutting board only. The other tools will never make it to my backpack but will come in handy in the kitchen.

I've been thinking about that set too.  I got my wife a set of kitchen knives last year that she really likes from Opinel's Amazon site.
