Maxped for BOB?
on: August 22, 2011, 04:24:53 PM
Hi all,

I want to put together a BOB and I figure the first place to start is with the bag.

I've heard many, many great things about Maxpedition bags, but I am turned off by the fact they don't have any internal or external framing in them.  I'm concerned about this because I expect to be able to comfortably carry a good amount of weight in it.  My experiences with various backpacks over the years have repeatedly shown me that frameless packs simply don't carry weight well.

Any thoughts on these?

Organizers are key to using Maxpedition bags.  I purchased a Pygmy Falcon II to use as a bug out bag (or conversely), as a get-home bag.  I have a large Unikit and a couple EDC Organizers in it currently; I'm thinking about adding a FR-1 to the exterior of it and a Tactical Tailor multitool pouch to one of the straps. :tu:
