The Hurricane Irene party we had last night took a bigger toll on me than anything the storm had to offer  :drink:

The wind is starting to pick up here, but still not too bad.

Well, Irene has come and...well, the wind's still pretty nasty. We lost power around 5am, still not on. Strangely, a friend of mine 3 blocks away has power, so I'm borrowing his computer at the moment. We got lucky, not as bad of a hit as was being talked about on the news. Still, there's a LOT of flooding around here, and lots of people with no electricity. We'll see what the next couple of days brings.
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

Just got back from a long walk in Riverside Park. The trees had a little pruning done and there was the usual amount of flooding, but I've seen worse storms come with a lot less hysteria than this one. The worst thing I encountered was that the outdoor beer garden had been completely dismantled and removed  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

Also, I can't believe they shut the whole smurfing subway system down, that seems pussified for New York City :o

Well we got hit very hard in central ma. Lost power yesterday morning at 10 and still none. My camp we still think is ok but the police have that area shut down   so me and kiddo will ninja our way later , but now we need to put some siding back on the house which i dread due to using a hammer instead of my compressor . I am letting a friend use my generator to keep her pump going in the basement she has a foot and holding.

Good news is look for a review! We have  a rayovac flashlight that has a multi in it! No idea where it came from but pretty slick

Good to hear you are ok John.  Nothing has happened here, but then it appears we were well away from the center of the storm.  We still have some decent wind going now, but it looks like we survived another one intact.

Of course my story may change once I get outside and have a better look around.
