Yes it does get a bit windy especially if its from the North or East  :D I didnt know anything about the Gov pulling down the pillboxes  :o Although alot of them are on private land .When you see a pill box I always want to go inside and have a look but when you actually do the are just full of empty beer cans and smell of p*ss  :(

Nothing like seeing new places to open up one's soul, I like amature photos of places it gives the place a certain character, which a travel brocure could never capture. Here is some of the pics I toke while I traveled to my friend's dad wake in Ilocos Sur, Luzon, Philippines last Sunday.

The Facade of Sta. Maria Asunta Church in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur. Its more than a century old build during the Spanish era.

It's bell tower.

Lonely beach matches the mood, somewhere in Ilocos Sur.

Took the next 2 pics when we had a few minutes stopover to stretch our legs on our way to see the Banaue Rice Terraces in the province of Benguet last May 4, 2008.

Finally we reached the Banaue rice terraces after 8 hours drive.
These rice terraces are considered one of the eight wonders of the world and these were carved into the mountains 2000 years ago by the indigenous people, the Ifugao. These are located 1,500 feet above seea level.

His ancestors carved the rice terraces mostly by hand more 2,000 years ago.
