tel me about it man.about thrid of of houses here are in blackout now, some roofs are torn away by wind etc.
i picked up my chainsaw from basement and im about to chop the birch that the wind is about to cut next,to avoid it from falling into car lot or into other side of house.this aint so rare but its always bit annoyin.

psssst.... >:(

well one cracked, and we must saw it,as its now layin against our yard-shack that gas storage rooms and sauan in it,and power cable runs there too for lights.

i wont sleep tonight a minute i bet.

theres now one tree,i hear, blocking road from one direction of the two routes to us,do the fire departement has to take that down for the cars to be able to go thru road,to city etc.

its a bloody cold mess here now, inside and out as the cable that was cut by falling tree, was one supplying the oil heating and staircase lights etc.i hope the electricity wont be all-off tonight, caus ei dont want my pets and girlfriend to freese,i can manage though but i feel a lot better if they dont gave to be feelin chilly willy.

Just came to this one mate.  Stay safe and stay warm, cutting down trees in a storm sounds hazardous.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

well good morning.

my scene here has totally changed in one night in my eyes a,s 7 trees crqcked or had to be cut during night, and last 4 hrs ive been choppin this one thick old birch into 40 cm stumps,to get em bit lighter to move, and another one is waiting, but my chainbsaw ran out of fuel, and the cahin is dead,as its been sharpened few times durin night and now theres nothin to sharpen in teeths anymore.well its oa good supply of fire wood but man it was chilly job in 10-17 m/s swirling wind,in middle of spikey snow rain.i had to take girlfriend and my pets to our yard-building,for night as it can be heated with wood as the house is cold now.one vw bug got crushed in our yard by fallin tree too,but that wasnt in anyones use but still...it was in good running condition,i hear.

im exhausted,really exhausted :drink:

Mikko Now just go get some sleep! That is a long night for ya. Unfortunatly the snow whould be falling here soon, and While I usually love it I am kinda worried this year about getting it out of the drive.  By the way I hope your car wasnt hit!

well....unfortunately i had my friends opel stw in long loan,i had it caus ei had to move stuff as we just moved here and we really needed 4 wheels for a week or two,but the damn tree crushed the bumper, driving lights, hood, front fenders and cracked the front...window too.big bill comin, big bang from nerves coming.i hope i can hussle the insurance stuff with my friend,he doesnt take it as my fault luckily.but now hes without his secondary vehicle that was in use of his wife.

if i remember to take i might snap a pic of my night-job,theres quite huge amount of chopped birch in yard, and im about to chop some half of it today as well, into stove sized smaller bits.

Glad you survived through the night. You're probably the most equipped for the storm on your block, if not the whole town.

Sailors & fishermen however value it for its true purpose - small ship's anchor.
