I am glad I have not ordered mine yet then.  Unable to decide which one I want and the buy both is not feasible at this time.  I saw them on moontrail as well but it clearly shows no items available at this time.

Got mine too.  Pissed.  I have no respect for said company.  Not to mention that their reply was anything but polite.  Not sure as to whether cancel or not as I really want the engravings.  I can say one thing though, I won't be back.

It appears that moontrail has them in stock up until a day or so ago the quantity listed no items available, now it has the silver ones listed 8 of one sheath and 12 of the other but not the black oxide one yet.

4" Supertool?

I'm excited!

I'm also in never-never land, so I'll have to pace out my excitement for the next few month... (online shopping is all well and good, but I ain't spending a shilling until I've held one in my clammy, nicotine stained hands)

Awwwww bugger it!

I have been trying to escape and evade this! :ahhh

If anyone is about to order from the Swiss tool place with the rather nice discount code above, would they like to add one on for me and send it to the UK please? :D

Alternately, is there any news of the potential group buy via Travis?

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Academy Sports and Outdoors has the Rebar in the store. I did not buy one as I'm short on funds at the moment.

I saw them in stock at the Katy TX store but they only had the ones with the nylon sheath and I prefer leather. I decided to go with Swiss Knife Shop. Saved on the tax and got the 10% discount.

San Antonio Texas. Potranco and Loop 1604.
It too had the basic nylon sheath.

Great.  There is an Academy Sports that just opened a month or two ago not too far from where I live.  I might just have to plan a field trip to check it out.

Made it to Academy Sports and they had the Rebar.  They had mislabeled it for 39.99 it was supposed to be 49.99 but they let me have for the cheaper price because that was what it was labeled on the shelf.  They had several newer tools that i have been waiting to see as well.

Ok, I've had a minute to play with my Rebar.

I have to say, the thickness of the blades bothers me, they are a tad thinner than a 91mm SAK blade to be honest.  I can see why, there is not anymore room to fit a thicker blade.

The obvious concern there would be how prone a thin blade can be to breakage and only time can tell that.  But I have put some serious vertical pressure on both the PE and Serrated blades cutting small diameter wood dowels and zip ties and felt no issues, and the blades tore right through all of it.  Will they break easily, I don't know yet but I'm sure I'll find out if they will, but until then I will use the heck out of them.

The pliers have got to be the coolest, most rugged bad ass pliers I've ever seen on a 4 inch tool.  The fine tooth section is a bit coarser than the Blast's pliers, and that bothered me a bit but my goodness it grips.  Complaint dissolved, those things grip!!!  I was just trying the other day to grip a stripped screw with the fine section of my Blast's pliers and it kept slipping.  Same screw with the Rebar today, and it yanked it right out! I wish the regular plier section was bigger but it really doesn't affect use as far as I can tell.

The cutters.  Wow, replaceable cutters on a 4 inch tool.  Not only are they replaceable, I just cut a key in half with them and left not a scratch or dent!  And the rolled handles make any plier/cutter action very comfy.

The tools are pretty much scaled down ST300 tools.  The phillips is exactly the same as the Blast, and yes the bit adapter fits perfectly, I already tried it.  The large flathead is the same too, and works as expected: awesome.  They also brought along the same can opener, which I've always liked as much as one can like a can opener.  The file is sweet, they really put a good cut on them, nicer than my Blast.  I just don't dig the shape, I like a straight file as the curvature makes you think you are slipping off whatever you are filing.  The saw cuts like any other LM saw, it's just a bit shorter than the blast's saw.

The awl.  I missed having an awl!  This one looks to be as robust as any they have made, it's thick and stout.

I wish they hadn't put the lanyard ring in, it's easily 4 times thicker than the Blast's lanyard ring and I never, ever used that.  They might have been able to fit scissors if it weren't for that thing.

All in all, an awesome tool.  It's slimmer than it looks, in fact it very much reminds me of how a Crunch feels in hand.  The pliers have a spring similar to Swisstool's, and it feels nice having them snap into place.

Nice review!  You might want to put that blade through a few more tests and try to get it to break.  It sounds like it should be no trouble at all  :salute:
