I'm not always a fan of pimped MT's, but that gold Rebar does look kinda cool.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

I think it's time to rotate my rebar into my work edc.  It's one of my favorite Leatherman Tools.

I know, that's the thing I don't get.  Why don't all Leatherman files (and Victorinox Swisstools, Spirits) come standard with a diamond coated side?  I see little purpose for both sides of the file being basically the same thing.  Diamond coated is rather useful.

When we asked Leatherman this they said that their research suggested Tradesman preferred their heavy duty MTs to have LM's standard file to the diamond file   hence it not being available on the SuperTool 300 , Rebar etc  . I love the diamond file , I suspect it may well come down to a warranty issue as the diamond file if abused will wear out a lot quicker than the standard file

Oh I see.  Thanks for the informative reply MultiMat :salute:  Still don't like it though.  The diamond file is nice to have, but then again, I'm no Tradesman either, so my opinion on that may not be valid   However, for my own preference, a diamond side is better :P

Does anyone know the exact specs, dimensions, measurements of the pivots and screws on the lower/tool end (and plyers end if you have them) of the Rebars? I am in the process of swapping out for custom machined ones or some from Knifekits.com. Do they HAVE to be D style pivots? Thanks

Thanks. If no one has the specs, I will probably dismantle one of mine to get them. No problem.

In case anyone needed the Rebar pivot specs:
Barrel length 1/2", width 6/32", D-style width decreased by 1/64", overall length with end screw 18/32". Diameter of Chicago style screw head 8/32" (1/4"). Knifekits.com has some good replacement options.
