I'll jump on this club, the blast is my favorite tool when using drivers, the zytel is nice and rounded at the end of the handles and is super comfortable especially if you have prolong use.

I also have a Blast. I always wondered when Leatherman would use zytel in their products. Love the tools and comfortable handles. Mine is engraved as well. I wrote a review on it in another forum several years ago. I think it is one of Tim's best tools.  Thanks for the topic!

I am not one for sheaths mostly because they are BULKY....

I can not be the only person who saw this and was like huh what?!

You guys are a very very bad influence. Never really thought about getting a Blast until tonite.

Is there a pocket clip for the Blast? Just seems to have a great selection of tools I would use a lot but is stuck with the ever so stupid mini driver.

What is up with the mini driver? They must have a kick smurf lobby or something.

I can safely say that I have now become a PSA/Enabler :D!!

No pocket clip that I am aware of.

Don't diss the Mini-Driver, it helped me fix my dad's reading glasses more than once and I use them to tighten the screws on my glasses/sunglasses every so often. It also helped when I needed to change the transponder chip on my car keys by helping to gently pry open the plastic casing without breaking the mounting clips and when I was helping my bro tune his RC cars, I recall him asking for it a few times but that's not so much my thing so only he knows what the smurf he did with that.

Would a pocket clip from a KICK work? If not, just redkneck mod a pocket knife clip on to it

Well it would not just screw in like on the Kick. The Kick's pivot screw has a threaded hole in it for the clip to screw into. The Blast does not. If you had the pivot screw from a Kick you could install it into your Blast though.

I have a couple of Blasts. Only one I have a pic of is my modded Blaster (ReBlast? BlastBar? never could settle on a name). The other one I have is engraved with my name and wedding date. I gave all of my groomsmen an engraved Blast as gifts.

Nice mod toolslinger   :tu:

I like my Blast as well but I also would rather have an awl than the mini driver but over all a great tool.

Oh yes, I had forgotten about this club.  I'm now back in after being reunited with my Blast thanks to the kind Captain to whom I sold it a couple years back :salute:  Much like you Mercury, I missed it, especially when there were instances of Blast love on the forum.  Glad to have my first ever multitool back in my possession :D

I've been a Blast owner twice. The first time i sold it, and the second time I gutted it to build the rather splendid Fuse-ilier mod. I prefer the chassis size of the Fuse over all the Zytel line.

I now just have an empty Blast carcass, and not really enough parts to fill it, but am considering cross breeding it with a Wave carcass and assorted LM innards to make a pocket clipped knifeless fully loaded Frankentool thingummyjig

The Blast is the most comfortable Leatherman I've ever used.  I don't know why the Zytel got hate, I like the inserts.

Oddly enough the prices on the Blast are on the rise.  Which is really effing frustrating as they were really low when I had one to sell, even after retirement.  Flippin trends.

I would love to have another one with the newer locks on it, but I'm not paying $80 for the damn thing.

Ebay has at least 2 Blasts with the new locks, for $40 or less, Buy it now. :pok:

The blast is my all time favorite. Mine stays on my duty belt and has helped a lot on patrol for nick knacks. I think it has a very versatile tool set and covers about everything.

I out recently picked up a Super Tool 300 that was on clearance at Wally World so I could have a plier based MT to carry off duty.

After poring over Ebay for a week or so, I finally found a good price on a Blast with the newer locks.  The tool appears to be in fantastic shape, and I got it for $40.  We'll see!
