I have 8 pairs of scales and I'm considering getting them Cerakoted since it's almost as tough as HAIII and I can have orange. I asked a Cerakoter on another forum if he could hold on to the bunch and just do a set each time he sprays something so I can get different colors. When I get 2 more alox models all 10 sets will go to him and take who knows how long.
Since it's a waste of money to have fewer than 50 parts hard anodized I'm hoping to sell off some of the Cerakote scales or knives with Cerakote scales to buy a bunch of alox stuff for a proper HAIII hardening. I keep finding places that claim they can do color hard anodizing and that's just too cool to pass up. It'll be a long drawn out process but someday I'll have a box of HAIII scales in my hands and this thread will rise from the dead again.
