SOG blade tip and edge differences
on: October 15, 2011, 11:41:46 PM
Is this common with sog blades?...the serrated edges and tips are different, the top serrated blade is what came fitted in my paratool, the bottom blade is a spare for another tool. the bottom blade will not fit the paratool without filing, the other pic shows the plain edge blade tip from my paratool, the bottom blade is the part serrated blade I was going to replace it with, again will not fit without filing :o

Wow, finally figured out the add image bit

I have noticed that SOG changes their blade/tools more frequently than Leatherman or Gerber. Sometimes the changes aren't necessarily better, they are simply different. Like the file for instance; I can pick up three pocket power pliers and all three will have a different file. Round tip, flat tip, nail nick, nail groove. Different file tooth patterns. This one double cut, that one not.

Its almost like SOG got a big batch of files from one supplier, then got them from someone else the next time.

Sorry to ramble about files, but I suspect the same thing is going on with their knife blades.
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools
