Has anyone noticed that their OG supertools have a lot more handle flex when you squeeze them together than most other leathermans?

I'd not noticed that, no.  But now you've said it I'll need to check it out.

I just checked all of mine and I can't say that it has any more flex than my others. My OG Wave has the most flex and the Core and Blast have the least.

I checked PST, ST200, ST, Core, Blast,  Rebar , OG Wave

I've had this for a while, but been far too lazy to take a picture.

Photo of the recently-purchased 1996 Supertool I posted in "lastest leatherman" thread. Having played with it for the last couple days, I started to have a few appreciation for it:
- Entirely US made: For something this old, and with the "USA" proudly stamped on the plier, I think I am having a pure-bred US-made tool at hand (correct me if I am wrong)
- Simple yet elegant piece of work: I dislike the lack of dedicated locks, but the whole thing feels so nice in my hand. The lack of dedicated locks also allows the proper use of the ruler, which is fairly accurate once I have both sides of the handles on the same plane. The numbers on the ruler are legible, and add a nice touch to the tool look. If you look at the ruler surface at an angle under the light, the flat surface on the handle sides make the ruler look a lot better than on top of the handles (as on ST300, Core...).
- The sheath: This, my friend, make the OST a "gentleman" multi-tool. Simple. lean, un-intimidating. The brass work, lettering... ooze quality and craftsmanship. My Blast has a similar but modern sheath. The Blast sheath gives an impression of being manufactured, while the OST one has a "made" feel to it (if you know what I mean)
- Those blades: OST main and serrated blades' spines make me think they are thicker (which is true, a mere .003" thicker than the ST300's). The rounding on these blades really give off a classic vibe. In the event of zombie apocalypse, you may have a slim chance of survival with that scary looking serrated blade.

Overall, still not a tool I will EDC due to the lack of dedicated locks. But for tool collectors or those that like to have a cool steel gadget to play with at the desk or on the couch, I highly recommend this beauty.

Welcome aboard Roman!  You found a super nice one there, complete with the box.  I have a 5/95 Super Tool and have never seen that symbol before, but I'm on the lower end of the knowledge curve on this.

My 5/95 Supertool.  It's on my belt right now.  Of all the m/t's, I really love this one.  The only thing that would make it perfect would be a nice set of Surge scissors.

I miss scissors on my ST tool. But I residned to it... PST II had scissors but it wasn't so heavy-duty like ST!
I have Charge TTi too. TTi has scissors. It's wonderful multitool! But my friend said. Old ST is like Hummer H1 and TTi is like Hummer H3. I agree with him. Both MT are great, but different...
