What year is your SwissTool(s)?
on: December 22, 2007, 09:33:29 PM
I assume that by now everyone has read Dunc's thread about the different style SwissTool plier heads?
Link: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,2463.0.html

Thanks again Dunc for inquiring, and a big thanks to Mr. Elsener for supplying the information. No way we would have known without his help!

So that being said, what year was your SwissTool produced? (Use the picture below to tell. Look closely, the differences are quite distinct.) A few of us posted in the other thread, but please add it here as well.

That is very interesting , While I have had in the past a 99 model I have never seen a 97 or 05

Could be a project for 2008 , track them models down  :D  I bet a 97 model is hard to come by .

One is brand new in the box and the other is used and has a broken ice scraper.  Other than that they are pretty well the same.

Thanks Carlos! Yours are the first 05's I've seen. The plier head seems to be wider and stronger than previously.

The clearest indicator of an 05 model seems to be the underside of the jaw is straight (see picture below) instead of curved as on prior models.
