Interview
on: September 28, 2011, 12:07:04 PM
Hi peeps
I have been unemployed for the past two months and have a interview today. It is for a job which I am very suited to and have lots of experience.  Unfortunately I work in a sector which is being hit hard by the spending cuts and so I am sure I am up against many others who are qualified too.  Really could do with good vibes for you lot. If I nail this I may even be able to celebrate with a new multi or two. Anyway if you can spare me a thought or two, it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

A bit late I know. But I hope it went well.

My grandfather said one day he would give me some good advice when I went for my first job interview.
“Remember, when you go in, present you hand and give a firm handshake, then wait to be asked to sit down”
I stood waiting for him to tell me more, he didn’t, he just smiled.

Years later I got it. First impressions last, the rest of the interview is up to you.

Yep good advice. That is exactly how it went yesterday. As they have more interviews today, still sat by the phone.

Jobs are also scarce here in the States and my best wishes go to you and anyone else in your situation.  As difficult as it is, don't get discouraged.  Consider each interview practice for the one that gets you the job  :salute:

Aw bad luck, don't be put off. If it helps write a letter asking them to consider you for any future places that become avaiable, include your CV and contact details. Consider thanking them for their time and tell them what you thought of the copmpany (if positive!). You never know what might come up tomorrow.

Hang in there.

Do you want us all to send them letters telling them that they are missing out on someone really good?
