Excellent! Between Eric's curved poster board (the curve really does make more sense for scattering light) and this link I now have a plan for the ultimate portable light box. A collapsible wire frame cylindrical clothes hamper with a white fabric liner.

I believe those are based a HUGE (circumference of the hamper) weak spring.....

The box is the easiest to do, you can always put a curved surface in the box behind it, but not far enough to block the sides to let in light.
