Christmas bundles have started hitting the market

Juli had said a while ago that the leftover Monarch flashlights were going to be bundled with several MultiTools for Christmas, and it looks like this is the first one:

There was the camo Fuse and 400 last year, but I believe that this is the first ST300 gift set.

:-[..My bad...could have seen a wave packaged.
ive got Camo fuse with M400..almost got customs taxed on it due to considered as 'battery powered'..luckily got waved out. same too with M200  that comes with another set item.
Monarch torchlights is little known here compared to Maglites, but ...there differ in luminescene (?typo) ..per se on equivalent battery size.

I have the 300 and 400.  Awesome lights.  The only thing I would change is the switch, I like forward clickies, but that would probably drive the price up.

As far as I know, there isn't much price difference between forward and reverse clickies, but I could be wrong.

I'm a bit of a flashlight (and tint) snob...  IMO 100 lumens off of 2xAA is a little... um... dim.

They are old, discontinued technology. But they are built very well, and do come with a 10 year warranty. And with the current street prices, they're not a bad deal (except perhaps for the 500, still going for around $35.00)

Hopefully they get a decent run-time off 2xAA at only 100 lumens...  at that output level, if it isn't 3 full hours (assuming they're regulated, which is a big IF), then they certainly are old technology.

On the other hand, well built inexpensive lights are hard to find.  Too bad they don't make them in a neutral or warm tint.

Actually they are not regulated. The Monarch was/is the Leatherman "discount" line: basic, built well, and competitively priced.

Their higher end Serac lights were regulated, with good output, long battery life, and had basic UI's (except the S1)
  • S1 - 6 Lumens - 1 AAA - 11 hours
  • S2 - 35 (high) | 5 (low) Lumens - 1 AAA - 45 minutes (high) | 10.5 hours (low)
  • S3 - 100 (high) | 43 (med) | 7 (low) Lumens - 1 CR123 - 1 hour (high) | 4 hours (med) | 36 hours (low)

Yawn :) just kidding. You got me wondering about my mag lite.

In my opinion, the Mini Maglite LED 2-AA, is the number one best buy in LED lights.

Classic Maglite aluminum build, 4 mode UI, focusing beam, candle mode, up to 31 hour run time, lifetime warranty. And all this for a street price around $20.00  :tu:

The one thing I have against it is the longer length when compared to the classic 2-AA MiniMag. Makes dozens of aftermarket sheaths unusable.
