Hardware store with old-stock Leatherman tools
on: October 02, 2011, 01:48:04 AM
I ran across a hardware store with some discontinued, old-stock Leatherman tools (old Waves, a ST200, and a couple other odd-balls, most NIB, some display models), and was wondering if anyone would like me to pick them up and send them out at-cost.  All I'd ask would to be compensated for shipping.  If memory serves, the Waves were $60, and the ST200 was $70.  I can call them tomorrow and see what else they have, and their prices, if anyone is interested.  I do know the prices are firm; they weren't interested in going any lower, regardless of how much purchased.

Well for the heck of it, I called to see what else they had, and to see how much they were, they have old plastic coated Micras for $20, but only Christmas colors (some red, some green) left; they ran out of blue a while back.  Furthermore, the owner told me what I'd been told by an employee yesterday was wrong; the prices weren't firm since they'd had their merchandise so long, and that if I really wanted them, he'd let the Waves go for $50 and the ST200 for $55, furthermore, he also said that they had a Crunch for $50, Pulse for $50, Charge XTi for $70, PST II for $45, and Hybrid for $52.  He said all of those were NIB.  Also, just for the mods' FYI, I don't stand to make a dime off of this, it's simply a public service for anyone interested. :tu:

The PST II has been claimed.  The guy's setting it aside for pick up.  Anyone else?

Also, I'll be picking up the PST II and whatever else that's requested in a couple days, so that's the wish list time frame. :)

I know priority flatrate is about $12; I wouldn't know what first class would be.  I tend to have issues finding boxes, as I tend to fail at making my own boxes to size. :/

I can see if I can get a halfway decent box made from a box in my pantry.  Shipping would probably be about half the flatrate box, though don't quote me on that. :tu:

Turns out the trip was delayed until tomorrow.  I'm going to say the Pulse is tentatively taken by Beerplumber; just need confirmation.  Will pick that and the PST II up tomorrow, though I'll check the thread in the morning before I head out.

I picked up the PST II and Pulse today.  I have a wedding on Saturday that will take me back down in that area if anyone missed out today.  I'll contact the guys for the PST II and Pulse's shipping addresses shortly. :)

* old plastic coated Micras for $20, some red, some green
* old Waves for $50
* a ST200 for $55
* a Crunch for $50
* a Hybrid for $52

I got the XTi; while I was there yesterday, I managed to find a dusty SOG box holding an early (first or second generation) PPP.  Quoted price to me was $45.

Those are all good finds. If I hadve waited I would've done the PPP

If I remember, the box isn't that large; it should fit into a bubble mailer if you don't mind a somewhat damaged box.

Lol, that's fine.  That's also assuming the store still has it; it's not too high volume a store, and given the dust, well, I doubt anyone's come by to claim it for themselves. XD
