Won't be that bad, just highlighting and collating. No more than a couple of hours (including MT.O diversions ;))

Still sounds like a pain in the butt- I hate paperwork.  Mine is almost always late because I hate doing it so much!

I bring my netbook with me when I'm working on site so I can fill in reports and upload them on site, but some I have to fill in some parts by hand, which means I have to come home, print them out, fill in the manual parts (maybe 5 minutes per page, usually all of about 3 or 4 pages), then scan them and send them off, but those reports are almost always late because I can't usually be bothered doing them!

I hate that too. I get the ones where I have to print out, then fill in, then scan for email. The smurf thing is that the reports are coming from and going to the same company. Just got to love efficiency...

You're a people person!  Do you take the information from the customers and give it to the engineers?

"Well look, I already told you! I deal with the goddamn customers so the engineers don't have to! I have people skills! I am good at dealing with people! Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?"

You know what the smurf thing is? I shipped the whole lot of them to Detroit, where some person is going to pull two or three out of the pile, (to double check my highlights against the spreadsheet), and then throw the whole thing in the shredder...

By trade I am a Certified Automotive Technician (they used to call us mechanics, but now we get a fancy title so we don't feel so bad about not getting paid well)

But in order to diversify my skills, and marketability (as well to increase my chances of jobs security) I've taken on several other job over the last few years. IT Manager, Network Administrator, and in this case Warranty Administrator.

Cool.  Smart thing to do.

I used to run Transportation for a large resort, but I quit for health reasons.  I am Parts manager now at a collision center, and I also run QC.  I work closely with the blueprinter and write the occasional estimate.   It's not my cup of tea, but I like acquiring any and all skills for better marketability.
