Workchamp question...
on: October 11, 2011, 12:26:45 AM
Hi All,

I've just been reading an excellent review in the 'reviews' section which made me realise that I don't think my Workchamp is complete?

The review shows the Champ with two philips drivers, I've had a look on sakwiki and it shows the same but mine only has the stubby one. All other tools are the same.

Any idea if this changed mid life or could it be that mine was missed off during production (unlikely). I've had mine since 1998.

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Jon.

I don't have one myself but I seem to remember reading that the long Phillips is hidden under the scissors, any chance it's there?
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Hi Gareth,

I've just checked and it's not where it should be? Funny thing is that the scissors appear to be slightly open when they are closed in the scales (I think that makes sense??).

Regards, Jon.

Just spotted another difference, my saw and file are next to each other. In the review pics they are separated by a spacer?

Funny how these little alterations happen over the years....

Interesting.  If you look on SAKwiki at the Hercules for example you will see there was a variation without the long-inline Phillips.  Look like they came a little later in the life of the 111mm.  It was not widely known that there was also a WorkChamp with the same single tool scissors layer.  I will add it.  Thanks for the keen eye!

I have another Workchamp XL question...

I believe that there are two different versions, one with the small gutting blade, and another, more common, that does not have it.

Does anyone know if that is true?

Interesting, I don't think I've seen that.  Looks nice.  I think you may be on to something with the variation.
