Seems I've felt a sharp poke, but never anything that drew blood, so I voted no.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

I just did, first time ever, and was wondering whether it was common (pioneer X, stiff spring, compared to most SAK scissors)

The pioneer X is so incredibly awkward to open due to the backwards nail nick. I know they had a specific reason they put on the other side but it's not ideal. Every time I pick it up, I still think it's on the usual side and I have to flip it over. Wenger scissors can also be challenging to open especially if the knife has a lock. I've been nearly nicked but not cut yet fortunately.

Close, but not on a SAK---cut myself while opening my Style PS for TSA at the airport, to prove it didn't have a sharp blade

Managed to hold my thumb together long enough to get through the line without them wondering where all the blood was coming from

  • There's a SAK for that!
Nope, but all I have are 91mm and 58mm scissors.
I did cut myself on a Leatherman Micra, but that thing is a bit awkward I think.

Vic scissors are pretty safe I think. But now I have to buy an Alox with scissors to find out.
Thanks again, multitool forum  >:(

I nearly did the first two times I tried to open the Pioneer X scissors, which, combined to my preference for two-layer 93mm alox models, put me off buying one.

The akward opening I can get used to and circumvent by placing my finger underneath the scissors. However, I don't like the combination of akward opening and unnecessarily strong backsping. It feels clumsy and I am kind of disappointed at Victorinox.
