I was at Walmart and decided to check out the knife section. (as usual)  :D I saw this combo pack of Gerber Mini Suspensions and recently I have had the need for smaller MT and have been carrying the Squirt PS4 (which I love) along with a SAK of some kind, so I figured I would give these a try. I have literally only pulled them out of the pack and pulled each tool out once to make sure everything was working correctly and put them down for the night. I will let everyone know what I think of them after I fondle them for a bit tomorrow.

I would love to hear from people who own these tools. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I really like the Clutch and Shortcut, which were the original names for these.  In fact, I like them a lot more than the old Squirt series, and they are at least on par with the new Squirt- at least in my mind.

I didn't care so much for the "new" versions of them, the Splice and Vise, but I'm guessing no one else liked those much either since they are pretty well forgotten about in favor of the "new" Mini Suspension series, which are just the old models with fancy new handle scales.

The only keychain tools that even come close to these (I think) are the Micra (classic!) and the pliers on the CrossGrip, although the rest of the CrossGrip leaves a lot to be desired.

Well my first impressions are a bit mixed. I think the Pliers and Scissors are solid and work fairly well. The other tools seem to work well also, but the nail nick's are a bit shallow and I have a problem deploying the tools. Besides that only time will tell if I like these tools.  :tu:

The nail nick on the blade of my Style is fitted more to my 7 year old. It works but it's virtually non existent

I used to carry a Style every day and never had a problem with the nail nick, but you might have thicker nails than me. The Style is not the easiest to deploy the tools but much better than the Gerber Mini Suspension. The nail nicks on the Gerber just seem very shallow and almost rounded so the nail just slides off.  :(

My dad carries a Clutch I gave him as his only MT/knife when he goes camping.  It's survived two trips through the Arizona desert.  Good tools.

Also, I liked the Vice and Splice - I thought the inclusion of a small serrated blade was quite useful.

A lot of people don't like the small Gerber tools i like them. Santa brought the mini Suspensions last year for Christmas. Yes i still believe in Santa and still get the biggest Christmas stocking.

I actually just received a Vise in the mail a few minutes ago and am far more impressed with it compared to the Mini Suspension.

I've got a Clutch, though I've not used it much, general impressions are that they are OK tools, but not great.  Gotta admit that I prefer the feel of my Squirts.

I would have to agree so far. I am going to be switching between the Vise, and Mini Suspension s, and P as well as my new custom Micra. If all fails I will go back to my Squirt PS4.  :tu:

I bought this same set in January for $14 http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,25737.msg461937.html#msg461937

They were well built but the novelty wore off quick and I don't even remember what I did with them.

Yea I don't see carrying them very much. I was carrying the Gerber Vise today and needed scissors which I normally have on my PS4. Well they didn't have any.
