Charge mod
on: October 20, 2011, 03:26:48 AM
Hi all, I was thinking about attempting a charge mod and I had 2 questions.  1.  Will the wave/charge/blast scissors fit into where the can opener is on an XTI?  2. Can you just unscrew the botom screw of the charge and mod the inside tools without taking the whole tool apart?

Thanks,
Agent X68

I'm not certain  about the scissors fitting,  but yes you can take out the inside opening tools by removing the pivot and you don't have to remove the plier end pivot.

EDIT:  Yes I think you can swap the scissors in instead of the can opener, but I've never actually done that mod.  Maybe someone else will chime in. The best way way to find out is to try.

you betcha!

Give it a try, as long as the scissors sit, resting on the side of the tool you are clear, otherwise it would interfere with the plier head rest.

You can remove the knurled pivot screws by clamping on both ends with two sharp pliers, and unscrewing. :)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

XTi's have a T10 Security Torx bit. Super easy to find, only one side rotates, the otherside stays put, so if you feel any resistance try undo the otherside. Once you've undone it, you'll see what I mean.
