My favorite old school tool is the  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh !!!MINI!!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh The Supertool and PST are not far behind but it is the most compact full sized pliers that exist even until today :salute:

Kinda cool to think that the OG Wave design for a better grip on the handles was brought about by the handles of the Mini :o :like:

you probably should know that there was never a stamped PST11. All of the handles are PST. I'll send some pics of used rejected old components that rolled out of the cage.

Here’s a thread that needs to be revived.  Incredible stories.  Thank you.  Did you ever happen to come across the photos of rejected components?

Just found this thread.  What a great read!
Hope ToolAssembly shows back up, it's been a year.
Would love to know his thoughts on the FREE/ARC series.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Likewise, facinating hearing how the diamond coating on Pst2 files was applied in Switzerland.
Also that all the mini blades were hand sharpened.
I wonder about blade heat treat, was it done in house and in what quantity by batch and was it rc tested in qc?

Heat treating has never been done in-house.  Every time they expand the factory to allow for it, the new space gets used up by other departments.

What does this mean, "never a stamped PST11"?
Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but isn't this a stamped one?

They made the PST II for a year and a half without the handle stamping.

Why did they remove fishhook sharpener from file?

I think they were getting back a lot of them for warranty because the groove in the file was getting worn out much quicker than a solid file because many were probably sharpening hooks :D

I wonder if the diamond files on the ARC were also sent to Switzerland?  They are arguably the best that LM has made, and certainly the most impressive since the Kf4.

Good question :salute: I wonder if anyone knows that  unless they have changed whom does this I would say it is very possibly the same company that has done that for them with all of their diamond files
