My folders
on: January 01, 2008, 05:35:12 AM
Nothing special, just all my SAKs and other folding knives.  I really like the German Army Knife (2nd from top left) I got today from Bison...I'm thinking of a nice long orange lanyard for it...

It's a nice big folder, with a nice thin blade...I used it along with my Ontario pilots' knife on my last camping trip...the Ontario was for wood, and the OHT was for food (and opening the beer) :D

LOL, the Trekker is a great tool. You should consider buying one of the new Rangers from Wenger they are quite a knife!

A Waved Delica 4. (edit: the Endura is basically the same, just about an inch longer)

Everything you've heard about Spyderco knives is true, it's light, solid, and sharp.  The one thing that may bother people is the coating on the pocket clip isn't tough at all.  After a few hours of having it clipped in my front pocket, the edges of the clip were worn to the metal.  I like the look, but some perfectionists might have a heart attack. :o

I'd agree with you on that.  Thanks to Mike I now have a no5, the biggest Opinel I've ever owned!

I love the simplistic, gadgetless design and comfortable handles.  Plus, if you know any good woodcarvers, there is ample wood in the handle to have it redesigned any way you like.

Great example here:

How well do the Opinel stainless steel knives hold an edge? You guys have me interested in one(or two, or three) now.

I don't know- this is my first stainless Opinel and I've had it less than 2 weeks!

The high carbon models take the sweetest edge I have ever seen.

I've used mine to cut a few apples, some chicken, cheese, other odds and ends...and it's still sharp enough to slice an apple (I had one last night).  That's with a stainless one...I'm going to get a carbon one next time I put in an order with someone who carries them
